Journalist Fernando Vanucci died on Tuesday, 24, in Barueri, São Paulo. Presenter, commentator and sports announcer, Vanucci is known for his work on Rede Globo and the catchphrase “Alô, você”. The journalist covered six world cups at the station: 1978, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994 and 1998. Vanucci was also the voice behind the coverage of Globo's carnivals. The cause of death has not yet been revealed. In 2019, he was admitted to hospital after a heart attack. The presenter leaves four children and his wife. Most of Vanucci's career was on Rede Globo. In addition to the coverage of the World Cups, the journalist was presenter of several successful attractions of the station, such as Globo Esporte, Esporte Espetacular, Jornal Nacional, Jornal Hoje and Fantástico. Vanucci also accumulated tickets for TV Bandeirantes, Record and RedeTV! and, currently, he was sports editor for Rede Brasil de Televisão since 2014. Corinthians, Flamengo, São Paulo and other Brazilian football clubs offered their condolences after the confirmation of Vanucci's death. Renowned within television stations and the press, Vanucci was also honored by several journalists, such as Flavio Prado, Grupo Jovem Pan. “The great presenter Fernando Vanucci, who has worked on several sports programs in the last decades, has died.
