"We are exhausted, depressed and hopeless. As you post a picture on the beach, at the club or at the bar, we are here watching the second wave come with increased strength. While we no longer have any strength. Because nobody listens to us," outburst doctor Diego Vieira.

Doctor and history professor Diego Vieira recently went viral on the networks using the Instagram @ imagens.história page to share reports of three episodes that took place this Saturday during his duty on the front line against Covid-19 at a hospital in Baturite, in the interior of Ceará.

Check out the doctor's reports:

“22 year old with respiratory symptoms. He reports that he traveled to the beach on New Year's Eve and that 3 people the house they were tested positive for COVID. He is afraid because he hugged his elderly mother on the first of January. I scolded about the need to avoid crowds, he replied that ‘needed to relax’ on the New Year. I feel like he didn't listen to me ”, says Vieira about the first example.

“Woman of 45 with fever and cough. He tries to skip the service line demanding “preventive treatment”. I'll send your turn. At his appointment, he requires a chloroquine prescription. I advise that the medication has no efficacy against COVID. I left the office threatening to sue me. I feel like she didn't listen to me, ”he says of the second case.

“71 year old woman with shortness of breath. Low oxygen saturation. I call SAMU, who informs me that he cannot take me to a large hospital at the moment because they are already with several patients in the same situation waiting. Daughter says they had a “little party” of only 15 people at the turn, only with close relatives. I didn't even have the strength to scold. I feel like she won't listen to me ”.

At the end of the reports, the doctor still made an outburst:

“And this is how all the health professionals I know are feeling. The population hasn't listened to us in months. In the meantime, we have reached more than 200,000 dead officially, but those who work on the front line know that this number is underestimated. We are exhausted, depressed and hopeless. While you post a picture on the beach, at the club or at the bar, we are here watching the second wave come with increased strength. While we have no strength left. Because nobody listens to us ”.
